(Rookie Season - Sportsman)

This was Sarah's first race ever at the Miramichi Speedway. This was a very well run and fun event put on by track owner Jason Carnahan. There were 15 cars in the sportsman class feature. When all was finished and the dust settled, Sarah had her best stock car finish yet... she finished on the podium in a remarkable 3rd place behind Veteran Pro Stock Drivers, Dave O'Blenis and her mentor Lonnie Sommerville.

Dave O'Blenis is back atop the Sportsman world in New Brunswick.O'Blenis took the lead within the first 20 laps of the Coors Light Sportsman 125 on Saturday night at Speedway Miramichi and held it to the finish of the event, holding off Lonnie Sommerville on a restart with ten laps to go to seal the deal.Three cautions slowed the event on Lap 1, 80 and 115. The blistering pace saw only two cars on the lead lap at the end of the race with Remi Gaudet falling off the lead lap after hard contact with Nathan Ellis ended his night ten laps shy of the finish.Sarah McKay recorded her first podium finish of her young career by coming home in third.Gaudet and hometown favorite Brady Creamer took qualifying victories. Creamer went to the back of the field on a challenge from Speedway Miramichi owner Jason Carnahan with $20 on the line for every car he passed. Fifteen cars started the 125 lap event.
